Is anybody happier because you passed his way?
Answer: 1. Metaphor-
This day is almost over, and its toiling time is through;
Answer: 1.Tautology- the meaning of the words ‘over’ and ‘through’ is the same- come to an end.
2. Personification
3.Transferred Epithet- ‘toiling’ has been transferred from the ‘toiler’ (person) to the ‘time’.That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed?
Answer: 1. Repetition- ‘that’ repeated word.
2. Synecdoche- ‘Brother’ it represents all ‘fellow human beings’
- Does a man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?
Answer: 1. Inversion- rearrangement of words for poetic effect.
Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?
Answer: 1. Metaphor- the feeling ‘discontent’ has been compared to a ‘scar’.
